TGIS is a GO

TGIS receives a GO without reservations on March 5th, 2010. After giving our Go / No-Go presentation to Dr. Harris, Professor Glotzbach, Mr. Sprinkles, Professor Burton, and Christy Sering they liked the direction our project was headed. We will be working hard the next few weeks to refine our project. TGIS is looking further into the development of the facebook integration already in place for CGTConnect. While TGIS has a primary focus of putting together an online portfolio for CGTConnect, we have some other exciting features we plan to implement that will compliment the site. Our company plans to setup a meeting with someone of Purdue’s statistical department to further discuss and understand our necessary data collection towards our project.

TGIS Press Release

TGIS (This Group Is Sketch) is preparing for its Go/No-Go presentation, to be held March 5th at 12:30 in the afternoon. In attendance will be sponsors of the group, Ronald Glotzbach and Jim Sprinkles, as well as head of the 411 class, Professor Burton. The group, composed of members Stephanie Lewis, Ryan Hicks, Matt Milligan, and Neil Ahrendt, has begun initial preparations to further enhance a social networking tool pioneered by former 411 team, Scribble Studios. CGTConnect, an online portal for linking together current and past CGT students, has been well adopted but does not effectively retain users. The group plans to introduce an online portfolio-review option as a way to engage users and add utility to the site. The group is prospectively researching how being online would affect one person’s review of a student’s portfolio, as compared with an in-person review. They are also researching what criteria are used to form an objective review of graphic work. Further materials about the group can be found online at tgis411.com. They would also like to extend an invitation to any members of Scribble Studios as well as Industrial Advisory Board member Chris Korab.
